Short answer: Most LED neon signs don't need an electrician. They plug into a normal wall outlet with the adapter that comes with them. If you want the sign hardwired, with no cord showing, that's a job for a licensed electrician.
Plug-in (most signs)
- Hang it on the wall, plug it in, and switch it on.
- Run the cord along the wall or hide it with a cord cover.
When to call a licensed electrician
- Hardwiring into a junction box with no cord showing
- Adding a new outlet behind the sign
- Large storefront or outdoor signs that need a dedicated circuit or permit
Electrical work in Alberta must follow local code. Your electrician will know when a permit is needed.
Do we install?
No. Urban Now supplies the sign only. Your own electrician or sign shop handles any install. Want a hidden cord? Tell us when you request your quote so we can plan the cable length.
